High protein oatmeal

For those of us who work out in the morning, this oatmeal is a great thing to eat afterward.  Lots of protein, fibre, carbs and some natural milk sugars to give you that needed post workout boost.

Ingredients

Per serving:

  • Oatmeal, dry - 1/2 cup
  • Skim milk - 1 cup
  • Cottage cheese, no fat - 1/4 cup

(optional additional water)

Approximately 285 calories, and 21.5 grams of protein

Instructions

Mix the oatmeal, milk and cottage cheese.

Optional:

  • Heat in a microwave for a minute or two.  (I tried it unheated, and haven't heated it since)
  • Add additional water if it is too thick for you
