Hope to see a good turn out on the 18th!! I have not lost as much weight as I wanted to but this journey has helped change who I am and I know now that I am on the right track and will continue and meet that goal - it might take another 6 months but I am happy with who I am now and have more self confidence than ever and that means so much more to me than any number on a scale - it means it is coming off this time and staying off!! Can't wait to see the transformations that some of you have made. oh and very excited for the bootcamp!!!
bobmal ... Loved your comments and congrats on your success so far! I had a few bad weeks but I'm back on track now - I know what you mean about sometimes not even having time to come to this site. Can't wait to see everyone in July! I started a facebook group if you are on there - X-Weighted Saint John - look us up!!
It seems like everyone is quiet and not a lot going on, I know I have had a lull in my participation and have barely had time to submitt my wieght on the website for the past few weeks. I am still committed to this and after over 15 weeks , what used to require effort, is now just my normal routine. I have definitely changed my lifestyle for the better. I eat about 2000 calories a day and it is a good healthy well balanced diet. I don't have to count calories everyday, I check every few days to see what I am doing but do not have a problem with what I eat. I am also now doing 30minutes of activity every day, circuit training every morning. I am down 53 lbs so far and only 21 to go to reach my goal. I have gone from the first notch on a belt I bought in Jan to having to punch a new hole in the belt and I am ready to punch another hole so I can keep my pants up. Over the next 10 weeks I am going to add skipping rope and doing sprints at the local track a couple of nights per week. I feel great and have more energy than I have had for many decades.
This challenge has been exactly what I needed to help me to make the chnages I needed to make in my life and I am feeling the benefits and loving it. I hope others have alos reached that point, but if you have not don't despair, you can do it, re-commit to the challenge and get on track. Every day is a new opportunity to make the right choices, to lift your head and look forward, to get out and live live to the fullest. Eat right, stay active, your success will come with each correct chice and step you take. I am doing it and I know others are and can do it as well. I smile every time I put my socks on in the morning, knowing how easy it is to do that, and remembering that 16 weeks ago putting on my own socks was almost beyond my capability.
Stay positive see you all in a few weeks, July is not far away.
Not sure if anyone else made it for the walk or not - I made it for the first time but did not see anyone ... unless the girl in the blue shirt with the stroller was with this group. At 11 sharp I was walking towards the lighthouse running a min or two late in traffic and saw a girl standing by the lighthouse who then started walking .. I waited around for a minute or two and then went walking on my own (with my boyfriend). It was his first time at Harbour Passage and enjoyed it. We met up with a man from Kansas and spent time talking to him about the area - was very interesting. I'll be away on May 1st but will post an event on the x-weighted Saint John, NB facebook group for it.
Stay focused everyone ... we are in the last half of this journey and still time to shine!!
Yes the walks are every 2 weeks - not sure if i will be able to make it this week (april 17) tho - hopefully some others will :)
Glad everyone had a good mid-point weigh in. Some people used it as a Fresh Start - Get back on track and others have made a lot of progress towards their goal and are continuing to move forward!!
I have been stalled out for about 4 weeks - after returning froma trip south. back on track now tho!
Went for the mid way weigh in, also they did measurements. A great incentive to keep up the good work. Already down 19 pounds and 6". Let's go team the finale will be here before we know it.
