i reached my goal!!! :) now i need to hold onto it/beat it for the next 6 weeks of the challenge. woohoo!!! i'm SO proud. i've worked 1.5yrs to reach this!
i live in southern ontario - yep, we had TONS of rain this weekend. sorry to hear that your trip was wet but glad to hear that you still got to go canoeing. :) keep doing what you're doing...it seems to be working! it's fantastic that you're building strength and endurance.
i agree that we should exchange email addresses. :) mine is daniellev@rogers.com
If there are 644 members in this group, how come nobody ever comments? How is everybody doing in our group? Has anyone improved on their over all well being because of the exrcises?
Way to go Daniellev ! :) It's great! Keep it up! Sometimes we have to readjust for a while and that's ok too. Glad you can get back to the bootcamp!
I'm not an athlete but I am feeling good about everything. The camping was very wet. I'm not sure what Province you're in but in southern Ontario this week-end it was rainning quite a bit and very damp. There was a break in the weather on Saturday and we went canoeing for 2 hours, I had no problem the next day either which was a great improvement for me. I guess the weight training at the gym and all the streching from my trainer and my physio is paying off! Hooray! Did 1:40 minutes yesterday with stretching before and after the weights that I do. I still cannot use the eliptical machine, stairs, treadmill or anything else that will use the ITB muscle. So in that department I m taking it easy. My upper body is doing good!! But I still haven't lost any more weight. I think it might have something to do with my age ??? Oh well, got to keep going. Have a great week and hope to hear from you soon! P.S. could we exchange e-mails?? S.
hi S. how was camping and canoeing? i hope you heal quickly and get back to hiking and the other activities you love.
good news - i got the green light to return to my regular workouts and dance. after 3 months, it's about time. the doctor told me that i'm an "athlete" which was a HUGE compliment to me. he said i have the right mind-frame and spirit and that's why he's allowing me to return. he added that there comes a time when an athlete needs to return to what they did to not damage the mental and emotional state. the healing will come with time...as long as i stop when i hurt and wear my brace while doing it, i'm good to go. tonight was my first bootcamp class in 3 months - felt SO good - i did what i could and modified other things and some things i changed completely...but i did it!! and i feel great!!!
Hi Daniellev! Sorry to hear its taking some time to heal and it must be very painful! Good for you for eating well and clean! I am still struggling with that one! Now that summer is here, it will be easier to do that.
The ITBend muscle was knotted and swollen and pressing on the bursa sac but I am still doing all the stretching that the physio told me and still going to the gym and working upper body. ( I cannot do the eliptical, running, bicycle or too many stairs but I can walk on flat) I am feeling great, although not losing much weight. I have found though that my clothes are feeling looser! I guess my body is shifting and it does feel really good! I am up to 8 lbs. weights and my overall routine with the stretching before and after is approx. 1 1/2 hrs long but it's worth it :)
My husband and I are going camping and canoeing in Ontario on the week-end and I can't wait! I'm not allowed yet to hike because of the hills and uneven ground :( , canoeing is good!!Oh yes, and I can horse back ride only if I walk the horse which is fine with me too. :) So, I guess I am keeping fit !!!
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK and I'll try to follow your example on the eating! Have a great week!
sorry to hear that you're in physio for bursitis in your legs. i hope your recovery is quick. it's great to hear that you're still going to the gym and working your upper body.
my ankle is still in pain - turns out i tore 2 ligaments and although they're healing, it's a very slow process. i hope to be back at modified versions of my regular activity in the next couple weeks. fingers crossed. :) i'm still eating super clean and maintaining/losing my weight slowly.
How is your ankle doing? Are you back at your work outs? Are you finished physio? Guess what! I'm joining the group! I have to start physio next week because I have bursitis in both legs! : ( But you are such an inspiration to me and so is my dad that I am still going at the gym (yes! and in pain too!!) but I am only working out the upper body for strength. I am using dumbbells of 5 lbs each and I have 4 set of exercises to do. Because I haven't been able to do anything for the past 2 weeks, I have not lost a pound.
Hope everyone else is fine! Good luck to all in week 7!!
congrats on your 3lbs!! that's awesome!! keep it up! :)
i ate pretty clean this past week (minus the pad thai dinner on tuesday) but gained a pound...not letting it bother me too much and will focus on cleaner eating this week.
Thanks daniellev, I too will check it out. I've loss 3 lbs!! I am going to keep my focus on better eating. I actually feel really good because of it. Good Luck this week!
