Hitting the Wall - Maggie and Liz

Looking at Maggie and Liz, you wouldn’t think that they were just 21 and 26 years old. Their size makes them appear older, as do the clothes they wear to hide the weight they’ve both gained. When she was pregnant with her daughter, Caitlin, Liz packed on pounds that she just can’t seem to lose.

The sisters have little control over what they eat at meal times, as both their husbands have taken over the kitchen and the menu planning. Liz struggles with her husband’s disapproval over her size by eating in secret. Both women say that their weight causes intimacy issues with their husbands and Liz worries that she’s setting a bad example for her daughter.

Maggie and Liz are fed up with being fat and want to change. Not only do they vow to lose weight, but also to take on the challenge of climbing a 65 foot ice wall together at the end of their journey. To succeed they’ll need to take control in the kitchen, and shun the snack cart at the office.
