Dedication - Tammy
Until she had a car accident in her early 20s, Tammy was always athletic. She used to model and was a beauty queen, but her weight has crept up since the accident, then with her marriage and pregnancies. Since her brother died in a tragic car accident, Tammy has used food to make herself feel better, then feels guilty immediately after. “It’s a vicious cycle,” she says.
Tammy is a hardcore emotional eater, turning to food to cope with the loss of her brother and whenever she feels sad or stressed out. She snacks late at night and has trouble carving time out for herself between running a business and taking care of her family.
Knowing that her unhealthy habits could drive her to an early grave, Tammy has decided to take her brother’s death as a wake-up call instead of using it as an excuse to gain more weight. She realizes that her life is too precious to risk endangering with obesity. Tammy plans to tackle her grief by training for and running a half-marathon to honour her brother. Will she reach this challenging goal?
