Randi
At 8 years old, Randi feels self-conscious about her body. She is teased at school and already on track for a life of chronic health issues if the family doesn’t change its unhealthy ways. Randi’s parents, Terrie and Bill, jokingly refer to themselves as the “Junk Food Queen” and the “Fast Food King”, but the situation is far beyond a joke.
Randi’s 6-year-old sister, Maggie, is already in the same overweight percentile as Randi and is hiding food in her room, just like her mom did when she was a kid. Terrie knows that the poor food choices and sedentary lifestyle that she models are having profound affect on her daughters. She believes that she is passing her “addiction to food” on to her kids and wants to end this negative cycle before it is too late for her girls.
