Leanne

Rose and her kids, Leanne and Aaron, live in a low-income household in a high crime area far from recreation facilities.  When it comes to meal prep, they prefer anything easy – boxed, frozen or canned – that they can eat in front of the television. At 15 years old, Leanne knows there must be a better way - but has to find the confidence to rise above the limitations and challenges of her circumstances.

Rose is a hard-working single mom, who is totally clueless when it comes to healthy living.  She often falls off her diabetic eating plan and succumbs to the ease of fast food. The prognosis for Rose is grim – she acknowledges “the situation has become life or death”.  Without Rose, Leanne and her brother Aaron would be all alone in the world.  Rose knows she needs to change but is resistant to trying new things. Without a clear role model, Leanne is going to have to forge her own path on this journey.
