Amy

Amy turns to food for comfort whenever she is stressed out by her parents arguing.  Overweight and unhappy, she has very few friends and doesn't feel good about herself.  Amy’s mother, Sally, would really like to blame all of the family’s health issues on her husband Dave - from whom she has recently separated.

Dave is obsessed with his own fitness but does not push Amy too hard in this direction for fear of alienating her.  He’s knows little when it comes to nutrition and his bad eating habits have had a serious impact on Amy’s weight.  Heart disease is prevalent in Dave’s family, which means that Amy is at serious risk of getting it too. If Amy doesn’t lose weight, she’s headed for serious health problems.

This family is ready to admit that they’ve hit the lowest point possible “without self- combusting”.  But can they put blame, self-interest and stubbornness and learn to function as a family unit?
