XWeighted.com: What Happens now?
It is hard to believe that we have almost reached the end of our epic journey. For the past 26 weeks, we've loved supporting the XWeighted.com National Challenge participants as they've bonded, improved their health and dropped a serious amount of weight.
In today's blog post, we wanted to explain what happens after Saturday, once the Challenge is officially finished.
Your My X-Weighted Profile
After you weigh-in for the last time, the system will congratulate you and stay at week 27. Your profile will contain your January-July 2010 history, unless you choose to start the 26 Week Plan all over again.
Reseting your profile does not mean that you will lose your profile or username. You will maintain the following information within your profile: My Groups, My Recipes, My Shopping List, My Menu Planner, My X-Weighted Episode, My X-Blog, and Account Settings. You will be taken through the profile set up process again where you will enter weight, measurements and a fit test time. The rest of the elements of your profile (weight tracking, activity tracking, fit goals etc) will all reset and will start anew.
Restarting will be easy - you'll just need to click a "reset my plan" button (which will appear on your My X-Weighted page next week) to go back to week 1. If you did want to keep all your previous weight-loss info, the only way to do this would be to start a completely new profile - which you'll need to set up with a different email address than the one your current profile was set up with.
In January (if everything goes to plan, keep your fingers crossed!) we will launch the 2nd National Challenge. You will be able to reset your plan prior to the start of the new Challenge if you are already part way through the 26 week plan - so you don't need to wait until then to use the site to help you.
The Blog
The XWeighted.com blog will not have much new content after Monday, July 19th (so don't be surprised when you see old blog posts being repeated). The blog will be somewhat quiet for the next few months, while we are working on finishing season 5 of X-Weighted:Families and getting stuff ready for a big premiere in the Fall.
Come October, there will be new content on the blog, including follow-ups with season 4 participants and info about the new episodes.
This doesn't mean that we are disappearing. You'll still be able to catch us on Facebook and Twitter, so make sure you are following us for news on everything X-Weighted. We will also still be checking email, so there will be support for those using the site. Also, please continue to communicate through the groups and support each other in your maintenance or continued weight loss!
The Big Relaunch
As mentioned earlier, we are hoping to run another National Challenge in January 2011. With this, we hope to improve XWeighted.com in a number of ways. We've listened to and taken onboard the comments you've made about how XWeighted.com works for you and what you'd like to see on the site.
So stay tuned, we're hoping to come back bigger and better next year!

A Big Thank you!!
I have to say thank you to Anaid Productions and X-Weighted for offering this wonderful opportunity. I really appreciate the quick response thru-out the challenge for any technical problems or questions. Boy, when we asked, they responded! Always a quick reply or at least an acknowledgment that there was a problem and somebody was on it!
I have learned so much from this opportunity. It somehow made all I have absorbed over the years and made it all come together in the last 6 months.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND SEE YOU ON SATURDAY IN HALIFAX!!!
Humourous comment
So if you've done your job right, and we have taken your lessons to heart, we have no reason to sign up again for the challenge? :)
I missed out of the challange by 20 days, but the rules state we need a BMI that isn't in the healthy range. So I don't think I'll ever be able to sign up ;)
it doesn't apply to me (yet)....
...but kericmason makes a good point. X-Weighted should not orphan those who kicked butt in the challenge.
Perhaps by the re-boot I'll be ready to fine tune the machine. :)
Still love the concept, haven't given up and I would like to add that my sister totally rocked the challenge and I hope she is considered for one of the grand prizes. She has earned it.
We aren't orphans, more like graduates ;)
I admit you can, after achieving a healthy weight, sort of pause, and say "Uh, now what?"
But we have been given the basic information on what our lives should be post weight loss ;). I was mostly just poking fun at the assumption that we still needed to lose weight.
Once you finish, you remain vigilant with your diet. Make sure you don't fall back into old bad habbits, but enjoy the fact that you don't have to run a deficit any more.
Focus on your fitness goals. Make new ones when you achieve them. There is always something you can train toward.
Yes, the official prize winning challenge won't be an option. And much of the advice here will be oriented toward people losing weight, but that doesn't mean you can't pop by and see if there is anything new to learn and maybe apply to your life.
When the time comes, that we have reached the weight loss summit, we have to look at our new horizons, and spread our wings.
