WELCOME TO XWEIGHTED.COM
Welcome to the new X-Weighted website and blog, XWEIGHTED.COM. Here you’ll be able to watch episodes, clips and deleted scenes from all 4 seasons of X-Weighted, and find out what happened to participants after we stopped filming them. We’ll also be posting informative articles on health and fitness to inspire you on your own weight loss journey. Every day there will be something new for X-Weighted fans to discover, so check back regularly.
On January 9th 2010, we’ll be launching a nationwide fitness challenge where you can have your own X-Weighted experience and be in the running to win some major prizes. By registering for the XWEIGHTED.COM NATIONAL CHALLENGE you’ll be joining an online community designed to help you succeed. You will also have access to:
- A 26-week strategic weight loss and fitness plan
- Support from the X-Weighted experts in the form of videos with demonstrations, tips and additional information
- The ability to join online groups where you can share your challenges, successes and stories with other participants
- The chance to make your own X-Weighted episode to share with your friends, family and the world if you so choose
XWEIGHTED.COM is all about empowering you to make permanent behavioral changes: eating less, exercising more and embracing a healthy, active lifestyle.
Every Thursday we’ll be posting follow-ups for two past participants . This week we are checking in with Angela, who was a toned fitness model by the end of her journey, and Naomi, who had lost weight and regained her confidence on the volleyball court. Click on their profile pages to see their follow-up stories.
Don’t forget to sign-up for our email updates. Thanks for checking in and we hope you'll enjoy everything we have to share with you. X-Weighted's executive producer, Margaret Mardirossian wants to take this opportunity to welcome you to the site:
In my youth I ballooned from a skinny athletic tomboy to an oversized unhealthy and unfit adult. It was a shocking transformation for anyone who hadn’t seen me since my early teens. In retrospect, and knowing what I know now, it’s not a surprise given my life circumstances and lack of quality information in the “old days”. It truly prepared me for the last 8 years that I have devoted to presenting the journeys of everyday people struggling to lose weight and achieve optimum health (“Taking It Off” 4 seasons and “X-Weighted” 4 seasons).
Participants of X-Weighted have been heroic in stepping forth and sharing their trials and tribulations with the world. It is through their stories that we learn about ourselves, and witness the obstacles and hardships that must be overcome in order to achieve positive results. It is clear that successful weight loss isn’t only about following a low calorie diet plan and exercising. It’s not just about purging the junk from our cupboards; it’s about purging the emotional wounds we are carrying around too. It’s about being honest with ourselves, replacing the negative self-talk with healthy, life-affirming thoughts and beliefs.
Critical to success is surrounding oneself with supportive family, friends and social community. There are a myriad of diets and exercise plans to follow but, unless weight loss can be fun and fulfilling, and we can share the journey with others who can relate, it will always be a struggle.
That is what we are striving to accomplish with the XWEIGHTED.COM.
Over the years, thousands of viewers have expressed gratitude to our experts and participants for inspiring them to change their own lives. Countless viewers want to share their stories and begin their own transformations. Now that will be possible through Xweighted.com.
In January 2010, you will be able to log onto XWEIGHTED.COM and document your own weight loss journey. You will have the opportunity to set a fitness goal and connect with others, who are working towards the same goals as you. Paul Plakas, Fitness Trainer extraordinaire, and our X-Weighted experts will provide you with video-advice and blogs. In addition, all Canadians will be eligible to join the 26-week National fitness challenge and win prizes, including a weekend in Canmore, Alberta with Paul Plakas as your personal trainer.
At this time, enjoy the information provided here on the new season of X-Weighted, featuring families. And be sure to catch the follow-ups on your favorite participants from previous seasons of X-Weighted.
Many thanks to our courageous participants throughout all the years we’ve been documenting weight loss journeys. Thanks also go to the brilliantly supportive and creative team of executives at Slice, the dedicated, hard working superstars behind-the-scenes of the series, the website and much gratitude to our funders.
In healing ourselves we can move towards healing our world.
Sincerely,
Margaret Mardirossian
Executive Producer
