The X-Weighted National Challenge: Your Questions Answered
In just 11 days you will be able to register for X-Weighted's National Challenge, a 6-month fitness and health challenge designed to facilitate a permanent lifestyle change and a healthy weight transformation for Canadians. Joining the challenge is free, and comes with a whole host of tools and help from the X-Weighted experts. Here we answer some of the frequently asked questions about the challenge, and explain exactly how it's going to work.
Who can join the challenge?
Anyone can join us in this challenge, all you need to do is be aged 18+ and live in Canada. In order to be eligible for any of the grand prizes, you need to be currently at a BMI that puts you in the overweight or obese category. If you are currently at a healthy BMI, but would still like to lose a few pounds you can still join the Challenge but will not be eligible to win one of the grand prizes (there will be many other smaller prizes throughout the Challenge that you will be eligible for).
Why can't I register now?
Everybody has to register on the same weekend, on either Saturday the 9th or Sunday the 10th of January. This is so that everyone starts at the same time, making it a fair contest and ensuring that everyone is at the same point in the 26 Week Plan which will allow participants to properly support each other throughout the Challenge.
What if I can't make it to one of the events?
You can still enter the Challenge. Even those who attend the events will have to register online. We'll be posting a video on how to do the fitness test at home, so you won't miss out on anything if you cannot attend.
Why isn't there an event being held in my city?
We tried to get as many fitness centres on board as possible, but unfortunately we weren't able to organize an event in every city. We are hopeful that if we run the challenge again next year, we will be able to hold more events in more cities.
How will the challenge help me get healthier?
When you register for the Challenge, the first page you are directed to will help you determine a healthy amount of weight for you to lose over 26 weeks and help you to set a fitness goal - just like the participants on the actual X-Weighted TV show do. You'll have a personalized My X-Weighted page, where you will be able to log your workouts, how much weight you have lost and access the week's 26 Week Guide information.
The 26 Week Guide has been devised with the experts from X-Weighted. Each week there will be new Xecute Points, which are directions to participants that will help them make better choices and support them on their journey. The 26 Week Guide will include tips, videos from experts to help you whether you are staying on track or falling off track (XWeighted.com will be able to tell how you are doing, according to the information you input into your My XWeighted page) and give you things to think about that'll help you make lasting changes.
Your My X-Weighted page will also act as a starting point to other great features on the site, such as blogs, recipes, tools to help you along your journey, and the community section of the website where you will be able to connect with other participants that share similar goals and form groups together.
If you have more questions, please contact us here and we will answer them for you. Thanks, the XWeighted.com Crew.
