How Setting a Fitness Goal can Help You Succeed at Getting Healthy
When you sign up for the National Challenge, you'll be asked to select a fitness goal, just like participants on the X-Weighted television show do. When choosing a fitness goal, you need to find one that is relevant and meaningful to your life. By finding a goal that you believe in, and really want to achieve, you'll be more motivated to get fit so that you can reach that goal.
Your fitness goal can be anything that you desire it to be. If you have always wanted to run a marathon, dance a tango, climb an ice wall or swim 10 lengths, this is your chance to do just that. Here's why having a fitness goal will help you on your journey:
- A specific fitness goal will mean that you will have to increase your level of fitness in order to complete that goal. Sure, you can lose weight by not doing any fitness at all and just restricting the amount of calories that you take into your body, but really in order to get properly healthy you need to incorporate exercise into your life. Keeping a specific goal in mind will ensure that you keep up with exercising in order to succeed long-term. Angela, from season 1, says that for sure having a fitness goal helped motivate her, "the fitness part is what I loved so much and what I continue to love," she says.
- Knowing that you have a specific goal help you to target your workouts to strengthen the areas needed for that goal. Targeted workouts will make you stronger in ways that will help you in real life, and as you practice for that goal, you will be up to see that extra strength you have achieved in action.
- With the groups function on the XWeighted.com site, you will be up to join up with other members that share the same goal as you. By having other people to discuss your goal with and share the trials and triumphs as you will progress towards this common thing, you will be more motivated and help to motivate others.
- Completing your fitness goal will give you a great sense of personal achievement and pride, it will be another sign that you have made incredible steps in your life in order to change it for the better.

Challenge of choosing a fitness goal
I chose a goal of a 10 km distance in an hour. After I had chosen that goal, I injured my knee, fortunately for the short term, and changed it to 6 mi in no particular time frame.
I have jogged 10 km before some years ago and it may be that I can get my time down. I know I can get the 10 k and I will do it in the best time.
Thats a great incentive, its
Thats a great incentive, its to bad that all companies don't have gym's or incentive programs to lose weight. It would be fantastic if all companies had something like that we could be a much more fit society (possibly).
True!
I find that since I made myself a realistic yet still hard to reach goal - it definitely makes me work harder.
Fitness Goals definitely do the trick - especially because I want to be able to say 6 months down the road - YES, I TRIED and I SUCCEEDED!
Love Goals
I love checking goals off a list once they are acheived. Thanks xweighted for giving me the tools to be able to do that!
fitness goals
I feel this challange and fitness goal is exactly what I needed After having Haylee it took nine months to lose 20 lbs because there was no time frame or commitment but now I know that I have to lose the last 64lbs and with only six months to do it in there's no room for cheating or taking days off because I just don't feel like it...Thanks x-wieghted :D
