Help Paul Plakas set a new World Record (and Raise $25,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation)
Paul Plakas is about to attempt something great: He wants to set the record for the world's largest outdoor boot camp, and raise $25,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Here's how you can help him:
On July 13th from 6.30 – 7.30pm at the Edmonton Legislature Grounds, Paul Plakas will be attempting to host the world record for the largest outdoor boot camp. He needs all his fans, and those wanting to help to come along and support him.
If Paul manages to raise the $25,000 he is aiming for, he'll get to ride 100k through Jasper, AB, with his hero, Lance Armstrong, who is coordinating this massive fundraiser (there are 39 other people attempting to raise $25,000, so potentially 40 fundraisers will get to ride with Armstrong).
"I am a big fan of bike racing, and I know all the intricacies of bike racing, and I'd like to hear from his perspective, at pro-level, what he has gone through. For him to overcome the deadly disease, and come back and won the Tour de France is is just ridiculous. It’s never going to be done again in my lifetime," says Paul.
How it works is this: "Everybody turns up, and pays $25 when they sign up. If I get 1000 people to come and help me then I’ll meet my goal. Plus the Breast Cancer Foundation gets a lot of money from us," says Paul.
You can either go to Paul's website, on the front page it tells you exactly where to sign up, or just turn up at the event and register anytime from 6pm. Can't make it? Feel free to donate any amount to show your support here.

dragon boating instead
