Foodie Tuesday: Using the Recipes Section of XWeighted.com

cookingIt is thrilling to see that there are now more 400 recipes that have been uploaded by members in the XWeighted.com recipes database.

Sharing your own healthy recipes with other participants is a great way to help them on their journey, and also enables you to earn badges for your My X-Weighted page. When uploading recipes, these should be ones of your own creation or that you have adapted in some way, and not simply copied from cookbooks.

We thought that we'd take today's blog to explain how to use this section of the site in more detail.

To start browsing through the recipes on XWeighted.com, go to the Shared Recipes page, which is located in the Community Section of the site. There you can search recipes by ingredient (type "chicken" in the search box to find recipes containing chicken, for example) or browse by popularity.

You can also browse for recipes that have been given the "Seal of Approval" which is granted by X-Weighted to the healthiest recipes. Every week or so, the X-Weighted team will look through the recipes and select some of those uploaded by participants to recieve the Seal of Approval.

When you find a recipe that you like, you can select it as one of your favourites and it will appear in your My Favourite Recipes page. From this page, you can also share your own recipes, by clicking on the words Create/share a new recipe with the community, which are written in blue at the bottom of that page.

We hope that you are enjoying browsing other participant's recipes. Here are links to a few fabulous recipes that participants have added to the database recently.

Raisin & Walnut Rice Salad, which came from Isabella.

Your Inner Skinny uploaded his Healthy Nachos recipe.

Lydia Peever shared her Barley Tomato Soup recipe.

The Butternut Shepherd's Pie recipe uploaded by Sesuie is sure to be a healthy family favourite.

I take it that you do not have to enter 20 recipes before getting one approved? Or does it only show after you put in 20 recipes?

Wow

I felt the same way about Jillian... I was really shocked. But I will say I thought about buying them for about 5 minutes before I remembered what Paul would have said about that. :)

I am enjoying the recipes and some of mine even got seals of approval. It would be nice to be able to sort them by date as well as by title so that you can quickly browse the newest recipes.

I agree with RedRaspberryGirl. I would really like to perhaps see daily recipe posting section so you'd know there was something added to this section. I've read thru them all, but being aware that there are new recipes would be very helpful. Thanks X-Weighted!!

Next time...

We are unable to add this function right now, but we'll certainly keep it in mind for next time we run the challenge.

Although it may seem like a small change, unfortunately getting something like that programmed into the site costs big bucks!

Enjoying the recipes...

I have to say that this show had one of my favourite "Paulisms" of all time - there might be two women on this planet that could stand you but your hopes of getting them is nil

Laughed my butt off - that guy was a true AH

Calling like it was

Paul does have a way of stating his mind. It must shock some people. The stories he told at the presentation in Nova Scotia were ones that would clearly draw some interesting looks.

Gillian Micheals

Anyone else shocked to see Gillian with the line of pills onthe market?? I have to say I was more disappointed than surprised. I have a couple of her DVDs and I really like them but I guess I thought she was more about healthy than gimmick - the power of the almight dollar I guess

Totally agree...

I came accross one of her ads and was really surprised.
As I watch ever season of biggest loser and am really a fan of Jillian, I couldn't believe it... makes you wonder if they do it entirely natural on the show its self...
