Analisa: Overcoming Physical Challenges and Getting Healthier

analisa beforeTonight's episode, was a real tearjerker. Seeing the strength and bravery of Analisa as she struggled to overcome physical challenges in order to fulfill her fitness goal was incredible to watch.

When Analisa started her journey towards better health, her physical challenges made it very difficult to work out. "It was really hard, because this was the first time I had tried to work out. I was tired a lot, I just didn't know I could do it," she says, "I just wanted to stop."

It was also mentally challenging. Analisa said she wasn't exactly scared but she was definitely nervous about testing her body in that way. "When my body didn't react how I wanted it to, I found it very frustrating because I hate to think I cannot do something, whatever that might be," says Analisa, "and I'm stubborn. I didn't want to think that my right foot needed to be strapped onto the bike in order for me to be able to use it. It just hurts when I have to admit my limitations."

Having supportive people around her was crucial to Analisa throughout her journey. She says that without Paul and her mom believing in her, she doesn't know that she would've been able to do it. "Everyone needs support, especially if you are doubting yourself. And I doubted myself a lot because of the cerebral palsy and epilepsy. You need people who are there to say "hey, you can do it"," she says.

Analisa has some advice for those looking to start their own fitness journey: "It will be very hard at first, and you'll want to stop, but I guarantee once you start and see the results, you won't be able to stop. You will be addicted to it, and start to miss working out when you don't."
